Travel tips

As we know there are different ways of traveling depending on budget, likes and of course the destiny. However, I’m going to try giving some general tips.

First and most important thing is to know where you’re going to. Not physically, cause it obvious that you know where you are traveling to, but to know your destination´s required documents, vaccines or health advices, traditions and general norms. If you don’t so, you may get in trouble and that is not what you want, ha? I recommend checking if all your documents are updated nearly a month before departing so that you avoid that last minute stress because your passport is expired. Believe me; they won’t let you board the plane.

Next step is packing. I personally hate packing. It takes out the worst of me. That’s why I do a list with the things I’m taking and go checking them as I pack. However I always start by saying “ok, I´ll travel light this time” and end up sitting on my suitcase pushing my weight against it.

Anyway, I recommend checking the weather two weeks before going and planning what you are taking with you based on that. It doesn’t matter whether you are going to the beach or a big city. There are some items that I always take with me. Some comfortable shoes are really important for me as well as a basic jacket that matches any clothes. A good raincoat and a good hat are a must too. Oh and also take some socks. I always forget the socks.

When packing my daily needs I never take things I know I have in the Hotel so as the hairdryer or towels. However, I always do take sun cream and my moisturizer. They are necessary when spending the whole day walking the streets of a city.

Regarding to electronics I take the items depending on how long, who with and where I’m going. However, I always do take my phone and its charger, an IPod and of course at least one camera.

Finally, I suggest doing your own map of the place you are visiting. Highlight only the most important things to you and use that as your main map.

So this is it. This is my little tiny piece of advice when organising the next adventure.
